Città di San Marino, 10 December 2025. The Tree of Peace Memorial Plaque was presented at Palazzo Begni to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Political Affairs, International Economic Cooperation and Digital Transition of the Republic of San Marino, His Excellency Luca Beccari, by the Slovak non-governmental and non-profit association Servare et Manere, in the presence of the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic, Her Excellency Karla Matiaško Wursterová, and a diplomatic delegation from the Sanmarinense Department of Foreign Affairs.
The organization aims to support activities to promote peace and friendship between nations. The symbolic image of the tree connects two important and current topics: peace and the climate crisis. Special attention is paid to individuals who, through their commitment and meritorious deeds, contribute to strengthening international cooperation. The Association appreciated and highlighted the initiatives of the State Secretary Beccari, who, by bringing concrete ideas and actions to promote peace and understanding between nations on the international stage, confirmed that everyone can change the world for the better, regardless of the size of the nation.
This award is part of the long and illustrious history of peace and freedom of the Republic of San Marino, the oldest republic in the world. It seeks to encourage the Republic’s continued commitment to spreading the values of understanding between nations and full respect for human rights, while also highlighting the cordial and positive relations established with the Slovak Republic. The presentation of this prestigious award, the highest that Servare et Manere can award, provided the opportunity for a cordial and detailed discussion with the Slovak Ambassador, who highlighted the excellence of bilateral relations and the country’s constant focus on strengthening them. The State Secretary also received full support and a proactive stance towards joining the European Union from the Slovak diplomat.
Marek Sobola and Katarína Rybáriková from the Servare et Manere association, in a discussion with His Excellency, as well as with representatives of the San Marino Ministry of Foreign Affairs Cabinet, discussed not only the successes of Servare et Manere worldwide to date, but also the interest in planting a commemorative Tree of Peace in the Republic of San Marino. In addition to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this important event for strengthening the excellent Slovakia-San Marino mutual relations was reported on by the San Marino Rtv television, the Libertas.sm portal, and also the Trade Union center of the Democratic Confederation of San Marino Workers.
