Rep. n° 26/2025
Bern, February 2, 2026. Servare et Manere is preparing another initiative within the framework of the Tree of Peace project, this time a philatelic one. Not only collectors will find their place, but also lovers of classic postcards, the sending of which is already in decline in the current digital age. The new activity the Peace Postcard will connect the digital and classic worlds. New and old, romantic times. We will not only promote peace, friendship and community life, but also local attractions and tourist destinations. We will create a tangible, archivable value and, last but not least, we will participate in maintaining postal history and tradition.
Did you know that the peace motif was first used as the main subject of a postage stamp by the Swiss Post in 1919? At that time, the Swiss post issued stamps with the symbolism of the restoration of peace after World War I, and one of them was designed by the Swiss painter Paul-Théophile Robert. Servare et Manere has received kind permission from the Swiss Post to use the stamp motif for the Peace Postcard project! This is an extraordinary achievement and a great trust from the postal company, which was founded in 1849. In Servare et Manere, we greatly appreciate this trust and believe that it will help us fulfill our noble goals .
The prominent Žilina artist Peter Dlhopolček from the graphic studio Profigrafik.sk is already working with the stamp and derived the logo of the Peace Postcard from its motif. Other products as well as opportunities to participate in sending postcards will be announced soon.
