Dagmar Havlová took over the Decree of Friend of Peace

Prague, June 22, 2020. The former First Lady of the Czech Republic, actress and founder of the VIZE 97 Foundation, Mrs Dagmar Havlová Veškrnová, today took over the Decree of the Friend of Peace, handed over to her by Marek Sobola, founder of the Tree of Peace project. Friend of Peace is an honest and formal function. By receiving this title and award, personalities express support for the international project the Tree of Peace in the country of their birth. The Friend of Peace is intended only for living persons and cannot be granted to an organization. Mrs Dagmar Havlová became the very first Friend of Peace in the history of the project and also received Patronage over the Tree of Peace for the Czech Republic. The well-known complications caused by coronavirus COVID-19 disease caused a worldwide collapse and restrictions, which also affected the international project called Tree of Peace.

With the gradual recovery of life to the normal regime thanks to the relaxation of measures, an important milestone is the first foreign trip of the representatives of this initiative associated with the handover of the Friend of Peace decree together with a gift that symbolically reflects the current global situation. It is a women’s handkerchief, which in certain circumstances may be the equivalent of a mask. The handkerchief has hand-embroidered initials of the laureate’s name and surname, as well as the project logo. The project thus metaphorically reflects on the limitations caused by the coronavirus. The meeting with Mrs Havlová took place in a pleasant atmosphere and the discussion was also about the planting of the Tree of Peace in the Czech Republic.
