Primate of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland was awarded by Servare et Manere medal

Karslruhe, Germany, September 2, 2022. During the General Assembly of the World Council of Churches, the Most Reverend Dr. Tapio Luoma received from the hands of the Servare et Manere Secretary-General and Founder Marek Sobola the Memorial Medal of Tree of Peace, an award of the organization of the same name.

His Excellency Tapio Luoma is a Finnish prelate, who is the Archbishop of Turku and Primate of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland. Archbishop received the Memorial Medal on the occasion of his 60th birthday jubilee for his merits in promoting the ideas of peace and friendship between nations and spreading the ecological message.

The award was handed over in connection with the celebrations of the 4th anniversary of the international initiative Tree of Peace, which will be held on September 28, 2022 in Žilina, Slovakia with the participation of representatives of public institutions from Slovakia, supporters and partners, as well as Ambassadors accredited in Slovakia from some countries, in which Trees of Peace have already been planted. Currently, 28 trees are planted in 17 countries and on 4 continents as part of the program.
